A new feature you’ll never use

At Doorkeeper, we’ve been hard at work improving things under the hood with improvements that aren’t so visible but make your experience as an event organizer better. Today we’d like to introduce one such feature that you’ll never use but be happy that it’s there.

First some background, Doorkeeper has been growing a lot, and with that growth our community organizers have become a tempting target for people wanting to promote their product or service. We’ve noticed that companies have started going through our community listings and sending promotional notices out to event organizers on mass.

We don’t want Doorkeeper communities to become a source of spam for our organizers, so we’ve launched a new feature to protect against these unsolicited mass mailings: when we detect someone is sending such messages, we’ll automatically block them. You’ll never notice this feature is there, but it should improve your experience as an organizer on Doorkeeper.

This being said, if you are someone who wants to promote something on Doorkeeper, we’re happy to talk with you. With our experience with organizing events and helping event organizers, we can work together to come up with an offer that is attractive to them.
